ALERT: The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing the Casco Bay Bridge to southbound (Portland to South Portland) traffic from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 to conduct emergency repair work. On Monday, December 9th, a driver hit and damaged the barricade in Portland on the southbound side. Both southbound lanes need to be closed to traffic while MaineDOT crews and contractors replace the barricade. Motorists will be rerouted to the Veterans Memorial Bridge. The Bridge will be open to northbound traffic (South Portland to Porland.) Read the MDOT press release.
