The Mahoney City Center Committee (M3C) is laying the groundwork this summer to transform the former school property into a consolidated municipal campus and community destination with theater, meeting spaces, outdoor spaces and more, designed to serve South Portland for the next 100 years. If approved by voters, the center will comprehensively solve pressing and costly facilities needs at aging municipal buildings and create a new community-centered hub for city services, arts, culture and connection.
M3C formed subcommittees that are working on an engagement plan to welcome our whole community into the visioning and planning process, a funding plan to explore all funding possibilities, and guiding principles to inform the design of the campus.
Meet M3C members in this short video. The Committee holds public meetings monthly. Meeting dates/times are posted on BoardDocs and at southportland.gov/mahoney. Subcommittee meetings are posted on BoardDocs. Contact the committee any time at M3C@southportland.gov.
