Geocaching

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a GPS or mobile device to hide and seek containers, called geocaches or caches, at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. The first geocache was placed in 2000, and by 2023 there were over 3 million active caches worldwide.

What Happens if I Find a Geocache?

Whether on purpose or accidentally, if you find a geocache in a park please leave it in the same spot for others to find. But before you go:

  • Fill out your name and the date you found this in the log book!
  • Feel free to take a prize from the cache, or leave something you brought behind for someone else.
  • Return the logbook and pen to the cache and hide it back where you found it
