The South Portland City Council makes appointments to regional and citizen boards and commissions that seek representatives from South Portland. These appointments are made as vacancies occur and annually in January at a City Council meeting. While the City Council makes appointments to these boards, they are not city committees governed by City ordinances. Regional Committees agendas and minutes may be found on the organization's website.
Interested persons are encouraged to fill out an application online when there is a vacancy on a board or committee. If desired, a cover letter and resume shall be sent to the City Clerk

Portland Water District
South Portland and Cape Elizabeth residents elect two members to the Portland Water District Board of Trustees to represent South Portland/Cape Elizabeth. These members serve five year terms. Agendas and minutes of the Portland Water District may be found on their website.
