UPDATE Thursday, April 4 at 7 AM: From South Portland Bus Service: Service on the 24B bus is suspended for the morning today, Thursday, April 4. Some destinations along this route, including the Community Center and High School are closed for the day. If you need service to the Maine Mall, Walmart or downtown Portland, please go to closest 24A stop.
UPDATE Thursday, April 4 at 6:45 AM: From South Portland Police Department: There are widespread power outages and traffic issues throughout the City. If you do need to venture out today, please use extra caution, as the heavy, wet snow has brought down tree limbs and power lines as well. Emergency crews are out handling these issues as quickly as they can, so please be patient. If you see any hazards that need immediate attention, please report them to our dispatch center at 207-874-8575. If you are experiencing an emergency, dial 911. City of South Portland offices and facilities will be closed Thursday, April 4, 2024. This includes City Hall, Assessing, the Hamlin Building, the Library, Community Center, Transfer Facility and Water Resource Protection.
A parking ban is in effect until Friday, April 5 at 9 AM. No parking is permitted on any City street during this time. Lots at Waterman Dr., the Bug Light Boat Launch & Willow St. are available for parking during the ban. Cars must be moved from the lots by 9 AM on Friday, April 5.
South Portland Bus Service will operate on a delayed schedule on Thursday, April 4.
Rt 21 - First pickup will be Ocean and Sawyer at 8 AM.
Rt 24A - First pickup will be Redbank (Inbound) at 7 AM.
Rt 24B - First pickup will be Redbank (Inbound) 7:55 AM.
Additional delays or cancellations may be announced. Riders should plan accordingly.
Trash and recycling pick up is postponed by one day. Thursday, April 4 collection will happen on Friday, April 5. Friday, April 5 collection will happen on Saturday, April 6. The Transfer facility is CLOSED Thursday, April 4.
