SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Age Friendly South Portland and the South Portland Senior Center invite seniors, families, and the community to attend the Age Friendly Resource Fair on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 9 AM – 12 PM at the South Portland Community Center (21 Nelson Rd, South Portland).
Over 40 service providers will attend to offer information and resources on:
- Healthy aging, wellness, and community activities
- Vaccine clinic
- Balance and foot assessments
- Blood pressure checks
- Home modification, legal services, senior programs, and more!
The event also includes refreshments and the opportunity to socialize and explore the Senior Center.
Research shows that older adults want to remain in their homes long-term. According to the Maine Department of Health and Human Services data, 20% of Mainers are over 65, which will grow to 28% in 2030. Our aging population must be supported to maintain safety, health, and wellness. Attendees of the South Portland Age Friendly Resource Fair will walk away with tools and resources to do just that.
This event is generously sponsored by Ainsworth, Thelin & Raftice (ATR Law).
