To improve the resilience of the City’s infrastructure from damaging storm events, the Water Resource Protection Department (WRP) will be replacing two sewer manholes on Willard Beach during the second week of December. After conferring with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, WRP staff designed the replacement to minimize exposure to storm surge by installing new water-tight manholes slightly below ground level. Beach access will be maintained during the project, which we expect to take 2-3 days. For more information, please contact WRP at 767-7675.
