Please read the message below from South Portland Community Television (SPC-TV) about a hardware failure that is affecting its two stations. Visit the SPC-TV web page to stream the meeting online.

Mid-day on Monday July 15, 2024 South Portland Community Television experienced a significant hardware failure in its primary broadcast server resulting in the two local-access cable television channels that it operates on Spectrum Cable Television going offline. The affected channels are South Portland Community Television (SPC-TV) on Spectrum Channel 2 and South Portland Public Access Television (SPPA-TV) on Spectrum Channel 3. In addition to being available to Spectrum customers, these channels are usually streamed live 24/7 via the Internet through links available on the City of South Portland’s website. Both the cable television signals and the streaming signals are currently unavailable due to the hardware failure. Regular programming has been interrupted for the near future.
SPC-TV staff have been in communication with the stations’ hardware vendor and are working to resume regular programming as quickly as possible.
In the interim, station staff have implemented an engineering solution that will allow for live coverage of the upcoming City Council meeting occurring at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, July 16. Subsequent replays will be available via cable TV and the web at:
    • 12 PM, Thursday, July 18
    • 7 PM, Thursday, July 18
    • 12 PM, Saturday, July 20
    • 12 PM, Sunday, July 21
While the majority of regularly-scheduled programming will continue to be unavailable until the broadcast server is repaired, please rest assured that SPC-TV staff will be working diligently to ensure that both live and scheduled playouts of municipal proceedings continue to occur seamlessly at their appointed times.
SPC-TV apologizes for this interruption of service. We will be back online with our full roster of programming as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and thank you for watching South Portland Community Television.
If you’d like to reach out to us, please send an email to SPCTV@southportland.org or call us at 207.767.7615. We welcome your input.
Sincerely,
WM Amaral
SPC-TV Cable Access Manager
