Event Details

Tour the former Mahoney School + city facilities that would be relocated there (City Hall, Hamlin, the Main Library and Assessing) or rebuilt (the Police Station and Central Fire Station) as part of the proposed new City Center & Public Safety Facilities Project.

How it works:

• Drop in to any of the buildings on the map on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 between 5 and 8 PM and Saturday, October 4, 2025 between 9 AM and 12 PM
• Tours of the buildings will begin every half hour on the half hour, but you can stop by any time during the event
• Learn about the condition of current City buildings and SHARE YOUR IDEAS for the proposed City Center
• Sample food from our local business sponsors! (Food is first come, first served)
• Enter raffles for gift cards from our local business sponsors!
• Get discounts at local businesses!

Get project information, see ways to engage, and sign up for updates at southportland.gov/mahoney. A bond referendum vote on the project is tentatively planned for November 2026.

Please note: There is not a working elevator at Mahoney. Using stairs is required to enter and navigate the building. Please notify a staff member if you need accommodations.
