Stormwater Management Program - Stormwater Manual
In April 2009, the City established Stormwater Performance Standards that require the use of construction practices to minimize the adverse impacts to local waters from redevelopment or new development projects. These standards formed the basis for the development of a Stormwater Manual, which is intended to provide detailed guidelines for how smaller development projects can best meet the City’s stormwater management requirements. The Manual is also intended to encourage residential landowners to voluntarily implement stormwater management practices and reduce their individual impacts on South Portland's valuable water resources.
