Preparing for Coastal Flooding in South Portland

This mapping tool was produced by the City of South Portland, Gulf of Maine Research Institute, and the Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission with financial assistance provided by the Maine Coastal Program from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce.

How will flooding impact my community? Explore the effects of sea level rise and coastal storms on South Portland's ecosystems, economy, infrastructure, and community. Visit the new resource: Preparing for Coastal Flooding in South Portland.

The project team members put together several resources to document the development process and share lessons learned with other municipalities. In doing so, the hope is that communities can leverage similar tools (Survey123, ESRI Story Maps) to build local capacity and knowledge that can support data- and community-driven adaptation planning.
