The City of South Portland's Planning Board is a Quasi-Judicial Board consisting of seven residents serving a three year term who review and approve new development or redevelopment projects. Reference Chapter 27 and Chapter 24 of the City's Code of Ordinances.
The Planning Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month, and on the fourth Wednesday, when necessary. South Portland Planning Board meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 25 Cottage Road, South Portland, Maine. An agenda, listing the order of items to be reviewed, is available on the Friday before the meeting. The public is welcome to attend and participate during public hearings of the Planning Board.
All agendas are posted a week before the meeting at City Hall, the Planning Department office, the Public Library, the Community Center, and on this web site. The Planning Board may also hold workshops, site walks and special meetings as needed. Workshops are usually held before or after regularly scheduled meetings and are listed on the meeting agendas.
