On July 16, 2019, City Council adopted Ordinances #1-19/20 and #2-19/20 to support the preservation of historic sites and structures in the City of South Portland. There are three distinct purposes of these ordinances:
- More clearly identify historic resources in community
- Create initial incentive to preserve existing resources
- Delay demolition and non-historic exterior work to discuss preservation options and/or obtain adequate documentation
For more information on these ordinances, contact Milan Nevajda, Planning Director
