SOUTH PORTLAND SKATEPARK
Exciting news! The upper portion of our skatepark is ready to roll! The public may now access and use this portion of the park. To help preserve the landscaping, we ask that all users enter and exit through the construction entrance at the corner of Nelson Rd. and Mountain View Rd. as shown below.
PLEASE NOTE: We highly stress that using the park is at the user’s own risk as skating itself is an inherently dangerous sport and injuries can occur.
Another important update: With winter on our doorstep and dwindling daylight this time of year, we have decided that it is in the best interest of the project to temporarily suspend construction activities for the winter. All necessary steps have been taken to ensure there are no safety issues left unattended at the site during this time. The silt fencing around the site, as well as the construction entrance, will remain in place until American Ramp Company remobilizes in May to finish the lower street section of the park.
The full skatepark is expected to be completed in mid-June 2023, after which we will host an official grand opening and celebrate with you all! Stay tuned.
Until then, happy and safe skating!
- Construction schedule: construction crew will re-mobilize on May 21, 2023 to finish lower section (street section) of park. The anticipated final completion date of the entire park is June 16, 2023.
