Official Results - City Councilor District Five Special Election
At the October 16, 2018 the City Council passed ORDER #71-18/19 setting Tuesday, December 11, 2018 as the date for a Special Municipal Election to fill the vacant seat for District Five City Council.
All districts will vote at the Community Center, 21 Nelson Road, on Election Day, December 11, 2018.
Notice of Special Election
The polling place will be open from 7:00am and close at 8:00pm.

Nomination Papers
Nomination papers for candidates will be available in the City Clerk's office on October 17, 2018 at 8:00am. Candidates must be registered voters living within District 5, and collect 100 signatures from registered voters within the City of South Portland.
Nomination papers must be filed in the Clerk's office by 4:30pm on November 2, 2018.

Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots will be available starting November 9. Residents may call the City Clerk's office at (207) 767-3201 to request an absentee ballot to be mailed or come to City Hall during normal business hours to vote absentee or take home an absentee ballot for yourself and/or an immediate family member. Click here to download the absentee ballot application form. The form must be mailed or dropped off to 25 Cottage Road, South Portland, ME 04106 or faxed to (207) 767-7620. Absentee ballot requests must be received by Thursday, December 6, 2018.
All voted absentee ballots must be received to the Clerk's office by 8:00pm on Election Day, December 11, 2018.
