Ed began his police career in 1971 with the Portland Police Department where he served until joining the South Portland Police Department as the Chief of Police in September of 1994.  He is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine, the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and the FBI National Academy.  He is also an active member and past president of the Maine Chiefs of Police Association. amy-berry.jpgDeputy Chief Amy Berry

Deputy Chief Berry joined the department in 1977. After her promotion to the rank of Sergeant in 1984 and to the rank of Lieutenant in 1985, she was appointed to her present position in 2001. She is a graduate of the 190th Session of the FBI National Academy and also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. Email
