Golf Course

The South Portland Golf Course is a nine hole golf course situated on 25 acres located between Westbrook Street, Wescott Road, and Broadway. The clubhouse, which shares a building with the Branch Library, is located at 155 Wescott Rd. New Phone # 767-7652

The par 33 layout measures 2071 yards, with a course rating of 59.0 and a slope rating of 92. It is a fun course for players who are new to the game, and seniors who are looking to relax, get outside, and enjoy a round of golf. Yet it is tricky enough to challenge the intermediate player. The more experienced player will gain the benefit of working on their short game, as the doglegs, and hidden, postage stamp greens, can make shot making a challenge.

The South Portland Golf Course is the perfect option for the golfer who is looking to get a quick nine in before or after work, or even during a lunch break. It is a great place for families, and friends to come out, enjoy a round of golf together, and learn the game of a lifetime.

The course will open in April, weather and conditions permitting, and the season will run through October. Shirts with sleeves and proper shoes are required, no metal spikes allowed. Alcohol, fivesomes, club sharing, and non-playing spectators are prohibited. Management has the right to place individuals into foursomes to speed-up play.

Look for Leagues, clinics, and events this season. We hope to see you on the course!  For more information

The South Portland Golf Course fees have increased.  During the past eight years our fees to participate have remained constant without an increase.  However, the cost associated with operating the course have increased, leaving us no choice but to adjust the fees this year to try to balance our budget.  We appreciate all of our participants, so we have left in place the membership fees as well as the discounts to help ease the impact of this fee adjustment.  These fees still represent an exceptional value when compared with other options available in the local golfing community.  Our intent is to maintain the course at the highest level possible and prevent it from moving backwards from a lack of sound fiscal practices.  Now all we need is a little cooperation from Mother Nature to get things rolling.
